Annual Dental Benefits: Use It or Lose It!

Published on December 05, 2015 | News

Although it seems impossible, the Holidays and a New Year are almost upon us! We are writing to remind you and your loved ones that as the end of 2014 approaches, your annual dental insurance benefits as well as any healthcare flexible spending accounts (FSA), will expire at the end of December. Dental coverage is unique in that “what you don’t use, you lose”; the available benefits left in your plan don’t “rollover” into the next year.

At Access Dental, you and your family’s health is our first priority! When certain conditions are left untreated they pose a risk to your dental health and your overall well being. Tooth decay left untreated can lead to tooth loss, and periodontal disease left untreated can cause complications for diabetics or patients with cardiovascular disease.

To get the most out of your dental plan and to benefit your health, we highly encourage you and your family to schedule any pending treatment that you may have pending as soon as possible. This guarantees that you and your family can begin 2015 with full dental benefits that can be applied to future care and keep any out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum.

As a special courtesy to our patients with expiring insurance benefits and FSA’s, we are giving first priority in scheduling to those who need to use their insurance or FSA’s for unfinished treatment by the end of the 2014. We would love to get you scheduled now so that we can reserve a time that works best for you. As the end of the year approaches, calendars get busy and things get put off. Reserving your appointment time now will also help you avoid inconvenient last minute appointments and painful emergencies during the busy Holiday season.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
